Helping surgeons in the preoperative stage creating patient’s anatomical pieces with accurate 3D printed models.

I nova DE GmbH initiated the SUSS 3DP project in September 2016, funded within the framework of the FABulous accelerator program.

Originally intended to assist in surgery planning and training, the project aimed to create the 3D Printing medical service of the future. We proposed to design a medical software interface for the surgeon to segment and delineate the anatomy of the patient that should be printed from CT and MRI images. We coupled the software with an on-line service for 3D printing that would be delivered to the users installations within days. The kickstart project press-release can be obtained here.

The prototype software and service is now being tested with medical students, under the name Organ Print.
